Welcome to Half Moon Bay

A picturesque city located on the coast of California, Half Moon Bay is one of the best cities in the world to view the sunset in the spring and fall. Located less than 30 miles south of San Francisco, this beautiful community enjoys untouched hills on one side and the Pacific Ocean on the other. Half Moon Bay is also home to incredible surfing and to one of the most famous surfing hotspots in the world, Mavericks. Roadside stands, farmers' markets, and festivals that run throughout the year promote the consumption of organic foods and the preservation of nature, and much of the food is grown locally.

The historic downtown area is home to shops, galleries, restaurants, and other local businesses that cater to the locals and the visiting day-trippers from Silicon Valley and San Francisco. The downtown also plays host to the annual Pumpkin Festival held each October, and this draws hundreds of thousands of people to the region in support of the event.

A short trip to the south takes you to The Ritz-Carlton at Half Moon Bay; a breathtaking hotel and golf resort located on a bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean that features two championship golf courses, a spa, and luxurious accommodations. The resort features outdoor areas with communal fire pits that allow guests to roast marshmallows, and watch the sun go down, all while listening to the sound of bagpipes played every afternoon. The beach areas along the property are open to the public and are some of the most picturesque beaches you will find in the State.

Half Moon Bay is served by the Cabrillo Unified School District, but the schools are not the primary draw to the region. The incredible ocean environment, picturesque bluffs, and incredible local vibe are the real draws to the region. Half Moon Bay is also a farming town and is the headquarters for Odwalla, a natural juice manufacturer that distributes nationwide.

Half Moon Bay is located in the 94019 zip code and is comprised of primarily single-family homes. There are some condos and townhomes in the region as well, and they are typically located near the business districts. Below is the historical market data for the city.
